The Challenge

Toyota approached us to revamp their Newsroom Executive Bios page following their leadership restructuring. The goal was to create an engaging, user-friendly design aligned with Toyota's updated branding and corporate hierarchy. I collaborated with Senior Product Designer Riley Schoonover to tackle this project.

Actions Taken

1. Design Exploration: The client requested a new "North American Executive Committee" carousel based on a rough sketch. After consulting with the Development team, we determined the idea wasn’t optimal. Instead, we proposed four desktop and mobile design mockups, balancing their request with alternative solutions. For example, Option 4 uses a two-tab system toggling between the leadership team and executive committee, while Option 3 features a one-row, three-column carousel. These designs reduced scrolling and enhanced user engagement.

2. Collaborative Approach: Riley and I partnered with the Development team to ensure feasibility and alignment with client goals, presenting multiple design options to showcase value-added solutions.

Impact

The client approved Option 4, featuring a two-tab system that improved navigation and user experience while adhering to Toyota’s branding and restructuring goals. Our collaborative approach exceeded expectations, delivering a polished and effective solution.

Manufacturing Reskin

The Creative team was tasked with exploring layout options for the Manufacturing pages, including one version featuring the current map element and another without it. The team also incorporated the additional client-provided copy and reimagined the layout of the grey stat boxes. Two layout options were shared with the client, who ultimately chose Option 2. This version excludes the map and arranges the grey stat boxes and additional copy in two columns rather than stacking them vertically.

United States Manufacturing Map

The client tasked us with creating an interactive map for the United States Manufacturing page, where each pin links to a detailed manufacturing location page.

Toyota Newsroom

Project Info

The Toyota Newsroom underwent a rebrand, aiming to reimagine the Executive Bios and refresh the content on the Manufacturing pages. Additionally, a new page was created, titled United States Manufacturing Map, featuring interactive hotspots linking to individual Manufacturing location pages.
